We Break Down Ohio State's Statement Win over Michigan, Browns Continued Lows, And What The Cavs Need Next
Welcome, everybody, to another episode of the Ryan Smith Sports Show. And I know it's been a minute. I'm so sorry I wasn't able. There's a lost episode out there in the works somewhere. But I'm back, baby. I'm back. And I was actually in Vegas for the first game for Shador. Got that win and those couple big passes. Me and my sons, we were definitely there, and my uncle, we had a blast in Vegas. They did us nice. They treated us nice. And now I'm back home and let's get ready for this show. I've been inching to get back, guys. I'm really ready to go. And we might as well start about what happened last Saturday. Them Buckeyes and the Wolverine Rings. We had to put it to them. 27-9. Hey, had to go up there and put the foots to him, and I'm not really mad at all. It was a great game. It was really a physical, pretty much a rushing game, but my dude Sand still happened to just pull out another three touchdown game. This dude, he's trying to win the Heisman this year. He's really not playing around with y'all. So I don't know. We got one more game. We got to, ooh, and the game that we got to play is for real, for real. I didn't know that Indiana was ever going to be this tough ever in life, but yeah, we got to beat them Hoosiers. This is for the Big Ten. And this is get them out of second place. What's going on with Indiana? Might be the toughest game of the year. Michigan, we had to do what we had to do to Michigan. No hats off to Michigan. I don't care. I love to see y'all lose. All my boys that are Michigan fans I'm talking to and family members. Love to see y'all lose. And Ryan Day, you finally did it. After four years, we finally got that dub. We needed that. Bo Jackson looked good. He almost got 100 yards rushing, but he had 100 yards from scrimmage. But he looked good running the ball. He's going to be a problem next year. I promise you. Him and Sand are going to be a problem next year. And Jeremiah and Tate, they do their things. Jeremiah got him, Jeremiah Smith got him a touchdown. So we do what we got to do. And the Buckeyes pulled this out. I am super glad. I'm super happy. We just did what we had to do. That sand kid. I'm going to just be saying every week until we end up playoffs. This dude is just going to be throwing for three tubs a game. I am not mad at this kid. This dude is great. And we got him for a couple more years. So Ohio State, I'm going to send a big OH and get a big I.O. in the comments. We did that this year. We beat Michigan. And all we got to do is clean the rest of this plate up and we're going to be good. I want to speak on that headbutt that happened against the Wolverines and the referee. It's kind of crazy, wouldn't you say? Did he deserve to get ejected? I kind of feel like he did. I mean, you can't just headbutt the ref in the middle of a game. I don't know. I know emotions are flowing. This is the rivalry game. This is the big game. I get it. But you can't headbutt the ref, dude. You just can't headbutt the ref. That's just my take on it. You guys let me know how you feel about it. And I definitely want to talk about that touchdown that Jeremiah Smith caught. It was very questionable. Very questionable. But I just want to get you guys' take on it. Like my take, I feel like, of course, my take is going to be I feel like he caught the ball, but there was a little, a little bit of bobble in there, but I don't know, man. I mean, this is college football. You only need that one foot down. And I don't know. I feel like he controlled the ball all the way. But hey, I would love to hear you guys' comments and let me see what you guys got to say about that. All right. Let's talk about what happened last weekend with the Browns and San Francisco 49ers. Yeah. It was ugly. 26 to 8. Got our butts handed to us. And I can't I have to I can't put all the blame on Shador. He didn't play the best game that he had. And that wasn't the best, even though it was only a second game ever. It wasn't stellar. But there was a whole bunch of other stuff that was going on during that game, especially the special teams was horrible. Offensive line stinks again. The play calling. Crazy. And then like um, we we we kind of ran the ball decent, but not really. The offensive line, I mean, it's horrible. I mean, it's it's just I have no no answers for it. Miles Garrett and the defense is that that's the only thing that's making it exciting to even watch. That's the only reason why I'm really, other than me being a hardcore Browns fan, that's the reason why I'm tuning in is to see how many sacks Miles Garrett is gonna get. He needs four more, and I think he's gonna get it. I'm pretty sure he's gonna get it. I hope he gets it. But Shador didn't look bad. He still he got us, he got us a touchdown in there. It's just the offensive schemes that they're running, like they keep going for it on fourth down when we don't have to. I mean, giving up fumbles on the punt, giving up short field, again, you're not gonna win games giving up turnovers like this. It's it's easy. You're just not gonna win. And we only put up eight points, and that was all Shador and uh in the extra point, so, or the two-point conversion. So I guess I'll give Shador some points for scoring all the points in the game for us, but defense looked okay. Garrett out of sack. Like I said, he needs four more, three and a half to tie, four more to take over. So I'm pretty sure he's gonna get it. And I think who holds the record is Michael Strahan and TJ Watt. Damn it, I can't stand TJ Watt. But yeah, as far as I go, I'm really rooting for Garrett at the end of the season. I mean, Jared Judy, I think he needs to be investigated for all these little funny little routes he's been running and skippity doodon during the game. Oh yeah, I was at that game and I, ooh, I had a tape. Boy, you can't be skipping. You had a 60-yard dot thrown to you and you're gonna start skipping, Jared Judy. Boy, Judy. I'm watching you. I'm watching you. I don't know if you and Stefanski, I don't know what y'all got going on, but you won't, and you I seen you yelling at Shador during the after all of that. You got to learn to be yelling, but you wasn't yelling when Gabriel and Flocca was throwing you all them little passes that you kept dropping, and you weren't yelling at them, huh? I see where you at, Judy. Like I said, I'm gonna keep my eye on you, young sir. But um the Browns, man, we'll be all right. They're talking about keeping Shador in for the rest of the season, letting him start, which is good, which is great. He needs the experience. Let him get the same experience that Gabriel had in the beginning of the season. Let him just get the experience. He you know he's your QB1 going forward. I mean, you know you don't want to put Gabriel back in there. You want to keep a headset on him and give him a clipboard. You might as well take his jersey from him. Just let him learn how to coach like Watson is teaching Shador how to coach. You need to focus on that, young man. Because you're not you're not gonna be a starter in the NFL. I'm sorry. I hate to break it to you, Dylan, but you ain't. It ain't you ain't it, brother. All right. I've been picking with this guy and this team all season. I don't really know why. I guess because I'm just tired of seeing him. And I'm talking about Pat Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs. They six and six right now. And if it started right now, they wouldn't even be in the playoffs right now. So they're six and six. Like I said, I'm not I'm not a hater of Patrick Mahomes. I actually like the kid. I think that he's a great quarterback. I'm just tired of seeing them there every single year. I'm sorry. As a as an AFC fan, I'm just tired of seeing it. Maybe we get to see the Patriots and the Bills or something this year. Hopefully we see somebody different. I'm sorry, Pat Mahomes, don't come for me. Travis Kelsey's and all of them don't come for me. I'm sorry, y'all. I'm just tired of seeing y'all, and I'm glad that y'all are six and six. But y'all might be able to pull it out. Y'all gonna have to win it out. Win the rest of the games. And hell, y'all might mess around and be sneaky, sneaky wildcard, or mess around and be sneaky in the first in the first round. So I hey, I'm not gonna knock y'all all the way out, but I am kind of excited to see that you guys are at six and six. I'm pretty happy. Um happy, happy. But yeah, I'm just I'm just a Browns fan, just hating on KC. That's all pretty much. But I think like one of the the the surprise team is the Patriots. For real, for real. That that's really a surprise team coming out of the AFC. I didn't I didn't see it coming. That kid is really, hey, they got something going up there. And without Bill Belichick, that's what's really crazy. No Bill Belichick and y'all in first place, that's awesome. That's that's kudos to y'all. I'm not Matt. And my little take, I gotta, I gotta talk about you Steelers and your and your guy, man. Aaron is done. I don't want to see him get concussed. Y'all need to sit him down, man, because I mean, that last game was brutal. This dude had a bloody nose. When the last time you see somebody have a bloody nose in a football game, like you gotta face him. I was going, this dude's still getting, he was getting hit that much that he had a whole damn bloody nose. I'm sorry, Aaron Rodgers is not sorry. You gotta you need to go sit down, man. This it's okay. You got your little Super Bowls, you're gonna be a Hall of Famer. You ain't got nothing else to prove, man. You want to be able to walk away. Because right now, the way you're getting sacked, you ain't gonna be able to walk away. And you're gonna be walking away in a in a wheelchair on a walker or something crazy. You don't want that, man. You're getting too old, man. Us 40-year-olds gotta protect ourselves, man. And you you up there, man. And football is not quarterback, is not the not the position to be 40 years old and getting hit like that. Hey, it's time to walk away. Do the Tom Brady thing. He's doing his thing on the broadcasting. Try that route, bro. Or go do some ayahuasca somewhere. Go do your hippie thing. Just chill out with the football. It's good. You okay? It's all right. And that's about what I was saying on Aaron Rodgers. I'm sorry, guys, but hey, I'm just gonna call it. I had to watch that game. It was the only game that was on. I really don't like watching the Stewards, but I had to watch that game. And I felt bad and I was kind of worried for him. So knock it off, Aaron Rodgers. Go sit down. Let that Rudolph kid come in. Because I ain't about to do nothing anyway. So yeah. Hey, that's my take on the Steelers. All right now. So NBA season has been rolling and I've been gone for a couple weeks, and I've been missing a lot of basketball. Because the internet that we had in Las Vegas was not great. I don't want to send no bad juju to anybody out there. I don't know how y'all are living with that internet, but hey, more power to y'all. But I was missing a lot of my calves basketball. I ain't gonna hold you. I seen a couple Lakers games, but I'm missing my Cavs. And they're sitting right now at 13 and 9, which, I mean, that's that's decent for the Cavs right now, but it's not like it was last year. Last year I want to say we were on like a 15-game tear type stuff. But it's not the same as last year. We don't have the same team as we had last year. It's a whole different squad. Donovan Mitchell is starting to put up, he's putting up numbers that the same numbers that he's supposed to be putting up, 30 point. I think he's at like, yeah, he's at like 30.6 right now, which is a career high for him right now. So we like, we love to keep him going. The injuries is what's really gonna hurt us. We need Mobley, we need Allen, we need all our bigs to stay healthy. And Garland, with the addition of Lonzo Ball, Garland can kind of, we we can kind of let him get all the way healthy. That way, when he comes back all the way healthy, it's gonna be a problem once we get all the way healthy. It's just the it's the grind, it's the NBA grind. And it's it's not it's not for the faint of heart. These dudes be playing every other night, man. And it's hard to be averaging 30 points and you playing every other night. So my hats off to Donovan Mitchell. Keep grinding, man. And I can't wait to get out there to see a Cavs game. But yeah, I'll be out there soon with some live footage. But um, yeah, I'm not mad at the Cavs right now. You know what I mean? They they're they're playing decent basketball. All we gotta do is just keep maintaining these games, and the Cavs will be all right, man. We'll we'll be we'll be solid as long as we just keep maintaining. I'll have more takes on the Cavs once I get to watch more basketball. I promise you guys. I just haven't been able to watch them. So I will be out here with more takes for the Cavs and some more NBA takes for sure. All right. Hey guys, thank you again for watching. Don't forget to like, share, and subscribe to the Ryan Smith Sports Show. I'm on all platforms. Come check me out, man. Thank you for watching again. God bless you guys. See you later.
